Inshore and Offshore Fishing Trips
TripAdvisor
Your trip begins when Sean, owner of The Hungy Bungy fishing tours, picks you up at Nayara Bocas del Toro dock. The expert fisherman can show you little-known waterways, hidden white-sand beaches, and local Bocas del Toro culture.
A recent guest said, “Our group of 10 spent two days on the water with Sean on the Hungy Bungy and everyone absolutely loved it. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area, super responsive to any requests, and genuinely cares about providing an outstanding experience. This should definitely be on your list of things to do on your visit to Bocas.”
Charters are available for half-day, full-day, or multi-day tours, which you can tailor to your needs. Guests can also snorkel, underwater spearfish, wildlife sightsee, and enjoy beach BBQs, waterfalls, caves, and uninhabited islands.
Bocas del Toro offers fishing year-round for Snapper, Jacks, and Barracuda. Offshore seasonal fishing includes Yellowfin Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Wahoo, Kingfish, Grouper, Cero Mackerel, Bonito, and several snapper varieties. Catching and releasing a shark is common.
Your day ends when Sean drops you off at Nayara Bocas del Toro dock. The crew is happy to clean your catch, and there is nothing better than a meal of freshly caught fish prepared by our chefs.
“My fiancé and I chartered Hungy Bungy with two friends who are local to Bocas. Captain Sean and his crew Connor are passionate fishermen with experience and technique dialed into the regional fishing grounds. Sean is a fisherman and fisherwoman's fisherman. He is happy to teach and is meticulous with his technique and management of a 12-14 rod spread. Our day started with an outstanding snorkel in a calm reef with excellent structure, this was followed by an island exploration to a waterfall and rope-swing. We headed offshore in the afternoon for the evening bite, which was varied and productive. Large Barracuda, Kingfish, Cero Mackerel, Bonito and Black Tuna were landed in a variety of sizes. We were struck by larger pelagics without a hookup and had an overall outstanding day on the water. Hungy Bungy is large, fast, and stable. We are already planning a return this fall with a plan for four days of charter, two on the panga and two on Hungy Bungy. Best value in chartered sportfishing anywhere I have found.”
