ATV/Quad Rentals and Tours
TripAdvisor
Quads are the best way to explore Isla Colon, where Bocas Town resides. Nayara Bocas del Toro can make reservations for you, or you can call Flying Pirates, our ATV tour partner, from your hotel in Bocas Town. They‘ll pick you up at your doorstep after you schedule one of two options:
- Rent ATVs/quads and explore on your own (available to rent for a half-day, full day, or multiple days)
- Take a guided ATV/quad tour (available for a half-day or full day)
Located a few miles outside of town, Flying Pirates has ATVs equipped for driving on roads or rugged trails. The road-version ATV is best for exploring the entire island and places like Starfish Beach, downtown Bocas Town, and Bluff Beach. To put the island’s size in perspective, you can travel from Flying Pirates to Del Drago on the northern tip in about 34 minutes (15.2 kilometers or 9.4 miles). Along the way, you can visit Plasticbottle Village, a tribute to conservation. When arriving in Del Drago, you can take a beautiful shoreline hike or a five-minute boat ride to famous Starfish Beach.
Another fun destination on your road-version ATV is Bluff Beach, which is 21 minutes (15.2 kilometers or 9.4 miles) to the northeast of Flying Pirates. At Bluff Beach, you’ll find miles of gorgeous white-sand beaches and several restaurants and bars. Yet another destination is downtown Bocas Town, which is about 10 minutes southwest of Flying Pirates.
The adventurous can take a tour or self-guided tour on 1,400 acres of private property available exclusively for Flying Pirates customers. An off-road ATV can take you deep into the jungle where you may see monkeys, sloths, and other locals. This is the only way to see the stunning Blue Lagoon (pictured below) and ruins from one of President Noriega’s getaways. Make sure to bring your bathing suit; there are several secluded beaches and snorkeling locations along these rugged paths.
